EVERY SWIMMER DESERVES THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHINE.

Inclusive swimming lessons at EPIC SWIMMING AQUATIC across the UAE — individualised, respectful and paced around each learner's own goals, comfort and needs.

Special Needs Swimming Classes

Instruction that adapts to the person, not the other way around.

Some swimmers arrive at the pool with a diagnosis, a history of difficult experiences, or simply a need for a slower, quieter, more predictable approach. Our inclusive swimming offering is designed for exactly that situation: a calm, well-structured environment where the lesson is built around the learner.

We work alongside families to understand what the swimmer enjoys, what they find difficult, and what they would like to be able to do in the water. From that, we shape the session format, the pace, the language and the progression.

A clear note on scope

Our swimming lessons are educational and recreational. They are not a treatment, and swimming lessons do not cure medical conditions or replace clinical or therapeutic programmes. Where a swimmer has additional support needs, we encourage families to keep working with their healthcare team alongside our lessons.

Our Approach

Ten ways we make swimming accessible.

Every element of the program is designed to reduce barriers, build trust and keep the swimmer's own goals at the centre of the session.

Individualised Learning Approaches

Each swimmer is different, so the lesson plan is different. We adapt the entry routine, the instruction style, the equipment used and the session length to suit the learner rather than expecting the learner to fit a fixed template.

Water Confidence Development

Confidence is earned, not demanded. We build it in small, repeatable steps — controlled entries, supported floating, familiar routines — so that the swimmer's sense of safety in the water grows consistently across sessions.

Flexible Lesson Progression

There is no fixed schedule and no expected finish line. Progressions happen when the swimmer demonstrates readiness, and sessions can be repeated or slowed down without penalty or frustration.

Sensory-Sensitive Teaching

Pool environments can be bright, loud and busy. We take sensory load seriously — adjusting timing, group size, noise levels, transitions between activities and the amount of instruction delivered at once, according to each swimmer's response.

Communication-Friendly Instruction

Clear, literal language, visual demonstration, consistent verbal cues and predictable session structure. We welcome communication supports and preferred methods, agreed with the family in advance.

Personalised Learning Goals

Goals are set with the swimmer and their family — a favourite activity, a distance, a specific skill, or simply feeling calm in deep water. Progress is measured against those personal goals, not a generic syllabus.

Parent & Caregiver Communication

Families are partners in the plan. We share what was worked on, what went well, what was challenging and what we suggest practising between sessions — in plain language, and consistently.

Supportive Aquatic Environment

A calm, encouraging and non-judgemental poolside culture. Swimmers are praised for effort and progress, never compared, and the emphasis is always on a safe, enjoyable learning experience.

Small Group or Private Options

Both formats are available for inclusive lessons, subject to coach availability at the time of booking. We will confirm the most suitable arrangement with each family directly.

Water Safety Awareness

Safety awareness, taught at the swimmer's pace.

Water safety skills are one of the most valuable things an inclusive swimming program can give a family. Our safety awareness content is introduced gradually, explained clearly, and always linked to something the swimmer has already mastered in the water.

  • Safe, supported entry and exit from the pool
  • Understanding buoyancy, depth and body position in water
  • Awareness of pool edges, walls, ladders and boundaries
  • Recognising and responding to being off-balance
  • Basic self-rescue habits appropriate to the learner's ability

How It Works

Four steps, at the swimmer's pace.

We start with a conversation, not a swimming test. That way the first pool experience is set up properly from the very beginning.

01

Conversation

We talk with the family about the swimmer's history, preferences, sensory needs, communication style and what they would like to achieve in the water.

02

Plan

We agree the format, frequency and initial focus, and match the swimmer with an instructor whose approach suits them, subject to availability.

03

First Sessions

Short, low-pressure sessions that establish a familiar routine: the same welcome, the same warm-up, the same ending.

04

Review & Adjust

Regular feedback to the family, with the plan refined as the swimmer's confidence and ability develop.

Common Questions

Inclusive swimming enquiries.

If your question is not answered here, send it to us directly — we will respond personally.

Send us a short message through the booking form or on WhatsApp describing the swimmer's age, current ability and any support needs you would like us to know about. We will come back to you with suggested next steps and the available session formats.
Private one-to-one lessons are part of our standard program offering and are often recommended for inclusive swimming. Availability of a particular instructor or format depends on the current schedule, so please ask and we will confirm what is genuinely possible for your swimmer.
We will explain the pool environment and the accommodations that can be arranged for your swimmer during your enquiry — including entry and exit support, equipment options and session scheduling. Please contact us so we can confirm the specifics that apply at the time of booking rather than assume them in advance.
Yes — swimming lessons are a valuable complement to any support programme, and many families take part while continuing with their own healthcare team. Please share relevant information so that our instructors can plan safely, and let us know about any precautions your therapist has advised.
There is no honest universal timeline — progress depends on the swimmer, the goals and the consistency of attendance. We review progress against the swimmer's own goals and share our honest view at each review rather than promising a fixed timeframe.
