Adult Swimming Lessons

Professional swimming instruction for adults who want to learn swimming, overcome water hesitation, improve breathing and develop strong techniques. Lessons are judgement-free, individually paced and built around the reasons you came — fitness, confidence, open water or travel.

16+ Private preferred
  • Water confidence
  • Breathing
  • Body position
  • All four strokes

Learning objectives

  • Comfort with deep water and controlled breathing
  • Balanced body position and relaxed, efficient strokes
  • Survive-style awareness and safe self-management
  • Independent swimming of increasing distance

Beginner Swimming Programs

An introduction to floating, kicking, breathing, basic water movement and fundamental water safety skills. This is the foundation stage: everything here is designed to build reliable fundamentals rather than speed, so that later progression is fast and safe.

Absolute beginners welcome
  • Floating
  • Kicking
  • Breathing pattern
  • Water safety

Learning objectives

  • Hold relaxed floating positions for a set time
  • Coordinate a consistent breathing rhythm
  • Move independently across the pool
  • Apply simple water-safety rules independently

Intermediate Swimming Training

Improve stroke coordination, endurance, water confidence and swimming efficiency. Intermediate training connects the four strokes into smooth, sustainable swimming, then adds bilateral breathing, pacing, underwater work and consistent training volume so that the swimmer can hold technique under fatigue.

25m continuous swimming
  • Stroke coordination
  • Bilateral breathing
  • Endurance
  • Efficiency

Learning objectives

  • Swim all four strokes with consistent technique
  • Breathe bilaterally with an efficient rhythm
  • Maintain form across longer continuous distances
  • Execute a reliable streamline and underwater sequence

Advanced Swimming Coaching

Technique-focused training for swimmers seeking improved speed, stamina, stroke efficiency and overall performance. Advanced coaching works on the details that separate good swimmers from fast ones — catch mechanics, timing, body shape through the water, race-start quality and the ability to hold technique when genuinely tired.

High intensity
  • Stroke mechanics
  • Speed
  • Stamina
  • Race readiness

Learning objectives

  • Refine catch, pull and recovery for greater propulsion
  • Improve race-start and wall-transition execution
  • Sustain high output across race-length efforts
  • Build a personal, repeatable race plan

Private One-to-One Swimming Lessons

Personalised swimming instruction tailored to each student's abilities, learning pace and development goals. Private lessons are ideal for overcoming fear, correcting a specific technical issue, preparing for competition, or simply giving a swimmer the space to build confidence without comparison.

1 coach : 1 swimmer
  • Individual assessment
  • Custom goals
  • Flexible pacing

Learning objectives

  • A personalised plan tied to the swimmer's goals
  • Immediate correction of technical and confidence issues
  • Full attention on every repetition of the session
  • Flexible scheduling around work, school and family life

Group Swimming Lessons

Engaging instructor-led group sessions with a collaborative learning environment. Group classes are structured around shared goals, partner work and relay elements that build communication, timing and healthy competitive energy — all while each swimmer still receives individual correction.

Level-matched groups
  • Social learning
  • Relay work
  • Consistency

Learning objectives

  • Consistent training rhythm and accountability
  • Improved technique through observation and partner work
  • Comfort in a shared, energetic environment
  • Progress toward squad and squad-readiness

Swimming Stroke Technique Development

Focused instruction covering freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Technique sessions isolate one element at a time — alignment, catch, kick, timing and breathing — so that each correction lands clearly and stays with the swimmer. Full detail on our dedicated stroke technique page.

4 competitive strokes
  • Freestyle
  • Backstroke
  • Breaststroke
  • Butterfly

Learning objectives

  • Correct body position and alignment in each stroke
  • Coordinated breathing timed with the stroke cycle
  • Consistent, efficient propulsion and reduced drag
  • A polished, race-ready technique profile

Water Confidence and Safety Skills

Instruction focused on increasing comfort in aquatic environments and teaching essential water-awareness skills. Sessions cover safe entry and exit, orientation in the water, understanding buoyancy and pressure, boundary and depth awareness, plus the habits that keep a swimmer calm if something unexpected happens.

All ages
  • Water awareness
  • Safe entry
  • Self-rescue basics

Learning objectives

  • Relax and float rather than fight the water
  • Enter, exit and move around the pool safely
  • Understand depth, distance and pool boundaries
  • Respond calmly to a submersion or off-balance moment

Swimming Fitness and Endurance Training

Structured swimming workouts designed to develop stamina, coordination, swimming fitness and overall performance. Endurance blocks combine threshold sets, interval training, pull-buoy and kick-set work, and controlled-paced swims that build aerobic base, muscular endurance and a stronger, more efficient engine.

All paces
  • Stamina
  • Intervals
  • Coordination
  • Endurance

Learning objectives

  • Improved aerobic base and lactate tolerance
  • Greater muscular endurance and core stability
  • Better breathing economy under sustained effort
  • Maintained stroke quality at higher intensities

Choosing the Right Fit

Which format fits your swimmer?

A quick guide to help you choose between private, group, technique and squad training. Final placement is always based on an individual swimming assessment.

Choose Private When…

The swimmer has specific fears or a specific technical problem, is preparing for a competition, is very young, or benefits from undivided attention and a slower, more flexible pace.

Choose Group When…

The swimmer is confident in the water and benefits from social learning, regular routine, partner drills and the momentum of training alongside peers of a similar level.

Choose Technique Focus When…

The swimmer can swim but the stroke feels effortful or inefficient, the catch is late, breathing disrupts the stroke, or race results are not matching training effort.

Not Sure Where to Start?

Let us assess the swimmer properly.

Share the swimmer's age, current ability and goals. We will recommend the right program and level, then confirm the next available session with you directly.
